Oele Pattiselanno

Julius Sjoerd Pattiselanno (born in Malang, 22 April 1946; age 73 years), also known as Oele Pattiselanno, is a jazz guitarist from Indonesia. His teacher was Piet Pattiselanno, his own father who was also the leader of the Rame Dendang group in Surabaya.

In the 1980s Oele helped Jack Lesmana in many recordings and played with Trio Pattiselanno. After the departure of Jack Lesmana, Oele played a lot for the national and world Jazz stage (North Sea Jazz Festival, Ubud Jazz Festival, Bali Jazz Festival, Ngayogjazz Festival, Jak Jazz Festival and Java Jazz Festival) and he was busy teaching private lessons & teaching at Farabi Music Dwiki Dharamawan’s school is until 2014. Oele also has successful students including Tiyo Alibasjah, Robert MR, Nikita Dompas and Aditya Bayu. In the 2000s Oele continued to have regular jazz (cafes, hotels and bars) including Arief Setiadi, Jeffry Tahalele and Nial Djuliarso at Q Smokehouse, Senopati and with Idang Rasjidi Quintet at ARTOZ Bar SCBD). He also did not hesitate to play with his junior musicians including Monita Tahalea, Gerald Situmorang, White Shoes & The Couple Company, Revo Marty.
